Ciaran Gultnieks was born in 1970. He is perhaps most notable for his work as a computer game programmer. His best known projects include Star Wars in 1988 for home computers and Dogfight (1993), Slipstream 5000 (1995) and Hardwar (1998)[1] for the PC.
He was the first employee at Vektor Grafix,[2] later moving on to work for Microprose and Spectrum Holobyte.[3] In 1993, he co-founded development house The Software Refinery,[4] which closed its doors in 2002.[5]
In recent years he has contributed to various open source software projects, most significantly microblogging platform StatusNet.[6]
Ciaran manages data and computational resources with skill. He has worked in many capacities employing his talents to develop software, data and to automate some tasks to enable some humans to maybe work on more interesting and satisfying things.
